Hi Guys, I've got the cab booked in for an MOT tomorrow morning. It's been stored over the winter months with all the four windows down.

I have it a start to make sure everything was ok for the morning, tried to put the windows up and they don't work.

Anything obvious I can look at please. It's going to be a good day tomorrow so not a problem with them being down. I guess I could ask the garage to have a look at them.

Thought I'd ask you guys first.

TIA! :D

Connect the battery, open the door and see if the window switches illuminate. If not it's probably the fuse.

Then check you haven't accidentally pressed the isolator switch down.

Hi, door open, battery connected, Lights to switches not
On... The isolator switch should be down or up?

What's the fuse number?

Thank you

Hi All,

Checked fuses this morning - all fine. So pulled the car out of the garage and made my way to the test centre. The motors must have just been jammed because when I tired them again, all the windows came up, and the lights to the switches were also fine.

Thanks for the advice. I'll keep an eye on this, but any suggestions on which connectors to check would be appreciated.

I hope all is well with the MOT today!

:D

Jammed motors wouldn't put the lights out. Fuse rarely blows (and there's two anyway - one for doors open and another for doors closed), so chances are the cut out was tripped.
Connectors onto the back of the cut out aren't too clever, and have been known to fall off if the wiring is disturbed in the area.

You did didn't you winkeye
Of course I did - BMW made the switches idiot proof by putting a "depression" in the down switch and a "bubble" on the up, but I can see you have been confused by this, haven't you? :D
