i have an intermitant problem with clutch pedal going straight to the floor, no fluid loss or leaks so it's obviousley either the master cyl or slave cylinder. is this a common fault and which cyl will it be. i know you can clamp the flexi pipe to the slave to deterine, but this is very intermitant and only seems to happen when driving.
regards
clutch master cyl or slave cyl ?????

Mine goes all the way to the floor, but the clutch works fine....
There is not much to go wrong with the system, Fluid rev, Slave and master cylinder, Hose, thats it.

i know cluth pedals go to the floor ,but the problem is that it's not operating the clutch, due to a faulty slave or master cyl, just need to know which one.

replace both, if you replace one the other will fail pretty soon after,

99.9% gonna be your master cylinder.
the pedal is falling to the floor because theres not enough hydraulic pressure in the cylinder to keep it up or give it a 'firm' travel.
the master cylinder is located on the pedal box between the clutch pedal and the bulkhead. its a little bit fiddly, but not too bad.
i think EuroCarParts do a clutch master cylinder for about Ԛ£30 give or take, so try them.
remember to check you reservoir and top it up after the swap. the reservoir is located on the drivers side front suspension turret.
after the swap, the system will probably need bleeding, which is simple enough. theres a bleed nipple located on the back of the slave cylinder(in the gearbox). just loosen that and keep pumping the clutch pedal while topping up the reservoir with DOT4 brake fluid.
then, roberts your fathers brother, you should be all gravy!!

When I had the master cylinder replaced after the clutch failed it took about 3 weeks before the slave died too. Best get the other changed !!

Not too concerned really as the engine and box are due out as well so in the scheme of things just something else to change ( running out of things to replace
)
