I have had this issue before but it seemed to rectify itself. It started again today and i gave the fuel pressure regulator a tap whilst turning it over and it started to cough and start, however it was very reluctant and needed constant throttle. Then if i keep the revs up it will continue to run.
I replaced the fuel pressure regulator but it still keeps happening.
Any one ever experienced anything like this before

Problem solved. Went and dug a bit deeper, turns out it was the wiring to injector number 1 under the FPR
