Hi guys

Just removed the throttle body on my 325 cabby and noticed the rubber bung on the underside was badly split. Firstly what does this actually do and could this be taking air in through the splits ?

The bung blocks the unused port, and yes, it will take in air through the split - enough to upset the idle at least.

Cheers I thought that would be the case. I have taped it up until I get a new bung.

Some fuel pipe hose sealed with a bolt and PTFE tape will be a thicker, cheaper, sturdier alternative than that rubber bung.
