Wanted to breathe some life back into some recaro plastics. Something a bit for permanent than back to black or silicone based products.

I was told to use brake fluid on a rag? Anyone heard of this?

I considered using a heat gun or spraying the plastics but I think both will leave an odd finish.

Keep the gun well back and keep it moving, and that will come up nicely.

Looked up some of the reviews and plastx seems to be more used for plastic headlights and general scratch removal.

"I have also used this, gently, on other plastic surfaces and it works well.
However, do modify your expectations, this is not a miracle worker. It will remove light scratches by buffing away the tiniest amount of plastic and this is does really well.
On deeper scratches, be prepared to repeatedly apply it and work away at it."

But let me know how you get on!

The meguiars tyre gel is really good. Been using it for a few years. Boiled linseed oil from B&Q/Homebase, etc. is really fasntastic! Messy stuff though so wear gloves and be careful how you store it as it can spontaneously combust..

I found linseed oil to be useless on the spoiler. Applied loads, left it soak in.

A week later, back to its former state.

Yeah, the boot spoiler is a strange plastic.. I find most plastic blackeners work weirdly on them.

The tech 1 spoiler is rubber so you would think it would soak in the linseed oil. Its indoors too so its not like its been washed off by rain. :|
