Guys
Just got a footrest from BM World and it's basically a flat, rectangular plate with 4 screw fixings. I tried fitting it and although its flush on the left hand side, the footwell slopes away from the right hand side of the footrest and leaves about 3 inches of gap, with nowhere to screw into. Has anyone solved this problem before?

fwiw i fitted a cheapy OMP type footrest with just a couple of self tapping screws on the left hand side straight into the transmission tunnel but this is into a stripped out race car so it was better than nothing. You probably want something better than this if yours is your daily drive.
