I cant find it!!

Hi e30 homies, This is my first post even though i have been a member for a while now, but ile skip all that bit and introduce myself properly on the noobs page.

i have another 'daily' e30 but i have recently bought a 325i genuine mtech 2, which the prev owner put a "super chip" in the ECU, and is now running "lumpy"
I know it sounds like an obvious question but Where is the ecu?
ive looked in the glovebox behind that plastic cover and the little metal silver box i pulled out didnt say motronic on it, and im quite sure its the ABS unit.
Am i looking in the wrong place?
i have been told it may be behind the steering wheel because its the MT2-se ??

Im sure one of you will know straight away, so can someone help please?

(ive allways wanted an e30 but im just getting started so im a noob with the lot)

It's on the steering wheel side - nothing to do with being a tech2 though.

Under the dash there is a removable panel (3 plastic fixings that look like screw heads). With the panel removed, you can see the ecu tucked up under the dash, to the right of the steering wheel, kind of under the air vent.

ABS ECU is on the left side, engine ECU is on the right side, central locking ECU is on the driver's side. Applies to all E30s.

cheers guys, learn something new every day , why does it say the ecu is in the glovebox on youtube and some sites then? just to P people off?

Because some E30's are Left Hand Drive so that would make it the glovebox side...
