E30 steering lock upgrades?

As I'm new to the e30 scene; I was wondering if someone could advise me on what steering modifications/ swaps you can do on them to get better steering angel/ lock?

4mm spacers between the track rod and steering rack.

Apparently 2euro coins are a perfect fit if you knock the centre out.

You will have to remove the locking tabs and use thread lock when your screw them back in.

im confused - how would that work then??
