timing belt and water pump

need advice please, i will be replacing the timing belt and at the same time get a new water pump fitted even though nothing is wrong with it as far as i know, just what the mechanic told me is the best thing to do .. pls can you tell me what the best oe parts to use and roughly how much should they charge to replace and fit the parts .....

There are two electrical cables that run across the front of the timing belt cover, behind the water pump pulley. It's essential that these are retained in place properly by the guide and clips that hold them, otherwise they will wear through on the pulley.
Unfortunately the clips are often brittle and in need of replacement.

If its a facelift car you may also want to check the condition of the cooling system metal pipe that runs across the front of the engine - these commonly rot and are stupidly expensive from BMW IIRC Duke137 on here was selling a good powdercoated one recently.
