I have found a mint rust free 318 auto shell (year 1987) with chrome bumpers and want to turn it into a 325i sport manual mtec 2(year 1990) .Can this be done ? is the tunnel the same?is there a difference in shell's pre face lift and face lift?

Your main problem will be the difference between pre facelift and the facelift shell not the auto / manual. You would be better off finding a facelift shell :D

Unless you're up for some bodywork

BMW E30 2.0 Convertible (M52B28)
BMW E30 2.0 2 Door (M20B28 Turbo project to start)
BMW E36 328i Sport (M52B28 Turbo Project)

And the rear arches. Massive job to convert it and you will end up with a worthless kitted up bodged turd. Look for a facelift shell

Or make yours into a tech 1, which is better looking imo.

Or keep it as a chromie, which has more class about it than a tarted up rust bucket ;)

You'll need the following to convert it over to fit the Tech 2 kit.

Front lower valance
Rear complete light panel
Bottom rear qtr panels
Rear arches
Rear bumper mounts
Front bumper mounts

There's also a few other minor differences:
Spacing of prop. centre bearing mount holes (pre/post facelift difference)
Single horn mount under the grill instead of twin mounts under each wing (4 pot/6 pot difference).
Mounting bracket for clutch fluid reservoir (auto/manual difference).
Probably no ABS pump mountings on 318 shell (poverty spec./loaded up spec. difference).
