I'm prepared to get burnt for this question as I know there's a lot of people on here who aren't fans of making a car impractical to make it look better but anyway here goes...
I've just put some new wheels on my 318is the rear of the car sits perfectly however the arch gap at the front it's cringe worthy, I would like to fit coilovers and bring the front down a little but I was wondering if there is a tried and tested way of raising the engine to give me peice of mind that I won't smash the oil sump?
Raising an M42 and gearbox?

I've already fitted a sump guard but I'd rather not drive round with it catching all the time, I'd rather stop it catching than have to rely on the guard holding up to protect the sump.
