Electrical mirrors doesn't work

They are completely dead. Where do I begin with the troubleshooting?

try a new control first they play up alot

As above, control is often the culprit, followed by the appropriate pins in the driver's door 'A' pillar plug and socket. If the passenger door mirror only doesn't work, the problem can be the pins in either 'A' pillar plug and socket.
