I bought a prop online and of course it came in 2 parts. There's no sign of the white dots for realignment so how do I know when it's in the correct position?

If it's not been dismantled, mark it prior removal.
If it has been dismantled, give it a good clean and make sure there's no sign of marks.

After that, It'd be time to find a local specialist.

Have another look for the dots, they are factory marked so may be under some grime. I have never failed to find them.

Failing that the prop should only go together 2 ways with the yolks of the universal joints at right angles to each other. So you have a 50/50 chance of getting it right :D
