Some radiators come with a mounting boss on the o/s top as seen here;

This is intended for a thermostatic switch to drive an electric fan,radiators with this fitting can be found on cars with air-con.

I just cut the connector off my auxiliary fan and attached it to my after market fan, that way your fan plugs into the stock wiring harness and kicks on with the temperature switch in the rad. Since I removed my a/c if I want to manually turn on the fan I just press the a/c button because that automatically kicks on the aux fan.

I have purchased an electric fan from an E36 (direct fit in place of the old fan shroud) and I also got the thermostat switch from its radiator. My E30 318is has the hole in the radiator with a blanking plug in it. As my car didn't have air con, could you give me some info on how to wire it up please?

Thanks
