Bmw e34 540i ews

Removing the ews out of my donor car tonight. Just need to know are e34 linked to the speedo clocks because I'm sure the last time I looked there was a wire going into the clocks from the small module on the steering column. Also does anybody know where the main module is?

Been searching the net about it and not found much about removing the ews system to reuse it.

Any help appreciated cheers simon

What year is the car? Got the last 7 digits of the VIN?

It's a 1996 on a n reg I can get the chassis number tonight if needed. Cheers

No need, it 'll be EWS11 at that age, not the pre 1/95 EWS1.

All the E34's ive had the EWS module has been behind drivers side of the dash, behind the small compartment on the right

Can I just use a non ews ecu or will I need to get a non ews engine loom? Thanks for the replies didn't get chance to look at it last night tho. Didn't won't to freeze my bollocks off.

Sound do you have a diagram for the wiring at all
