Steering

Hi i bought a 1989 e30 320i tourer and the steering is really heavy on it what could be the cause of the problem

Low front tyre pressure?
Lack of fluid in the power steering?
Buggered rack?
Driver with thin wrists?

Ok thanks for the info. and also when i rev the engine there is a rattle form the top end.
