Hi there folks, im new here, ive just bought a 325 touring(originally a 320 touring, now 325 engined), needs lots of work, hence why it was so cheap!

The previous owner has stripped the head off it, (cams out, rockers the lot!) because the cam was fecked. Im not sure whether to rebuild the head with new parts, try and source a new head (which already is proving difficult) or buy a 3.0l engine off my mates mates mate for Ԛ£150

What would be the cheapest or easiesit way to go. Ive done engine conversions before, (never beemer tho) but i was told the 3.0l conversion isnt as straight forward as the 2.0l-2.5l swap.

The cars a 1990 touring, the 3.0l is out a 530i 1990. Im in ayrshire in scotland and i havent found any breakers with a 325 in it!!

HHHHEEEELLLLPPPP!!! before i go

hi there and welcome to the zone! first of all the m30 conversion can get expansive and i would'nt of thourght u'd c much change from a grand and can make ur brain hurt alot  if it was me and i was lookin for a quick easy fix i'd just buy another 325 with good engine and drop that in but if u got the time and a coupler of hundredquid u could do the M50 2.5 24v conversion as this seems to be alot easyer than the M30 (this is what i'm doing)
