what car did this diff come from ?

I know it's a large case from like a 7 series or a big 5 series but year model it has the same bolt up patten as the 188 medium case on e30s

looks like an early e32/e34 diff as it has the cv type input shaft flange. e28's used this diff but had the 4 bolt input flange like e30's.

that's what I thought but need to know as I'm gonna convert mine to large casing

Its an E28 type case but im not sure what the rear cover is, looks a bit custom

e28 brilliant yeah it is a custom rear case it's the diff limmet used on his e30 with 1000bhp m20
I'm going v8 twin turbo dan but chevy v8

I've been brought up with big old school v8s me and my dad have build plenty of yanks and hot rods
so why not add to things I like e30s and v8s

o no Craig I'm not having that perticular diff it's just for reference mate but I have got a pic of the other side ;)
