hi everybody,
just taken ownership of a 320i cab acouple of months ago. its a rough diamond so i want to polish it up in time for next summer.
the main problem i'm having is the hood. the central area seems to have 'dropped' 3-4mm and as a result the top of the window is catching the edge of the hood everytime i shut the door.it has caused the area to wear and if i dont sort it soon i feel i would need a replacment much earlier than anticipated.the other downside is the wind noise since the window is not properly tucked under the hood and it lets in a draught too.
i am in the north near manchester so can anyone put me in touch with a hood specialist who may help?
any advice will be gratefully received.
regards,Karl.
can anyone help with a hood?

hmmm not sure about 'pennies'
If you are going to keep the E30 for a while, may I recommend the Bentleys manual. It details both hood and window adjustments for the convertible.
And welcome to the 'Zone
ps if in the meantime you close the door by pushing the top of the glass (instead of pushing around the main part of the door say the handle, which feels more natural) you might find the door clears the hood.

is it hard to realign the hood/windows, need to do mine
worrying is like a rocking chair, it gives you something to do but it never really gets you anywhere

basically you need to remove the interior trim, and then you can adjust everything. But you really need a Bentleys as it is difficult to explain.

You can adjust the hood ,
If you look on the framework in the back corners half way up you should see a rubber cap,if you take this off there is an allen key socket(the female bit) inside if you screw this in it taughtens the roof..you probably will need to adjust your windows as well

I could use a look at those photo's, I have to prize the hood from behind the windows when locking up.
