Sr20det e30 temp gauge fault ?

So after fitting an sr20det engine into the e30 I'm finding my thermo gauge is now playing up, I have swapped the clocks and it's not that, also too both clocks apart and rebuilt the temp part and not that

Any clues to what it could be ? Maybe a thermo switch on the engine ??
