Folks,

Hoping for some help please......!! When I start my car (S14 M3 engine'd 325..) from cold, I get a terrible noise that sounds like a dodgy power steering pump. However, I have read about bad racks causing noise as well - I have a Z3 rack fitted. The noise is just about bearable with the steering wheel straight ahead, but gets a heck of a lot worse with any steering input.

The noise completely disappears when the fluid gets warm - just fecking awful whilst it warms up.

Fluid is correct spec ATF and replaced recently as part of the engine install so I am a bit baffled as to what is causing the noise?

Ideas and solutions welcome!
Cheers all... :thumb:

I didn't realise all derivatives of the 'F' word (including the Father Ted version that I used above) got censored!! :D

Any ideas welcome - thanks!! :thumb:
