brakes

hi i have just fitted new front brakes + sensor and the brake warning light will not work when all the dash lights are on ?
any ideas ??
bmw 318i touring 1994

well i am puzzled the warning light is ON when sensor is un-plugged and goes OFF when plugged in but will not come on with the rest of the dash lights when ignition is in position 2 ???

the brake light will breifly come on when car is turning over to start (ignition position 3)

do the clips on the brake pads (which the sensor plugs into) need to make contact with the neg/earth???

the reason for that is becasue its working as it should do, or am i mistaken also. mine only comes on when the engine is turning over then goes out when its started.

ok thanks guys i am glad i have made a mistake and i do not have a problem i am no mechanic and was thrown by the new MOT rule of all the dash lights must be working for a pass.
