IS AWFUL!.

struggled with the removal of the screw holding the valve to the core, but now i can't get my hand in a decent enough position to slacken the bolts holding the pipe to the valve!

Any tips?

cheers

Try using an allen key with the torx20 end.
Worked for me earlier today, get enough turns on the screw, then grip hard & turn with fingers. Then nip up with the tool.

Ahh fair point! but what about the 8 mm bolts that face the bulkhead? they are proving more of a pig than anything

you have to undo them from the engine bay, did mine with the engine out, so i'm not to sure you can do it with the engine in? i think its 8mm or 10mm, use a ratchet with a exstension and wiggle it in there, then get it on the nut. its all done by feeling, you cant see fuck all

Also those 2 little gold 8mm bolts, screw into a couple of tiny square shaped 'nuts', that are in the plastic receiving end of the valve.
If they fall out, you'll scratching your head for ages....ask me.

Bit of PVC insulating tape around the flange to hold the square nuts in place when you refit.
Replace the cross head self tapper behind the brake linkage bracket with a hex. headed one to make reassembly and future dismantling easier.
8mm bolts can be reached with a 1/4" socket and extension from under the bonnet and through the rubber grommet.

I remove the servo bracket. Upon refitting make sure that the brake pedal at rest is pressing the brake light microswitch, you can hear it click when it engages. ^^ Same method for the screws facing the bulkhead, extension through or remove the grommet.

Cheers man. looks simple enough to remove the bracket, but the car is my daily so im concerned about re-building it in time for work lol. may just remove the whole dash and do a thorough clean!
