You might be right actually, I was just going through the pdf in the wiki and seen it mentioned, it's not listed though. http://www.e30zone.net/e30zonewiki/imag ... r_jets.PDF

I wonder can a switch be retro fitted?

Heated washer jets piggyback onto the washer pump feed. Based on that, I think they're only powered for as long as the washer pump works. Certainly no sensor on the loom I just fitted.

However, that PDF in the Wiki talks about retrofitting E36 jets to an E30, and in that case there may be a sensor included.

Is there meant to be a plug on the loom then? I just have 3 wires, 2x purple and brown, can I just splice them in then on the plug powering the pumps?

Going by the pdf it's on the brake duct or on a bracket.

Slightly related to this, where will I find the plug that goes onto the level sender on the washer bottle? I don't think it's on the HLWW loom and I don't see it on the loom going around the engine bay, all I have for this is just 2 pins sticking up on the bottle.

My factory heated jets have a male and female plug for the washer jets. You unplug the washer pump feed, plug it into the washer jet loom, and then connect that loom to the washer pump.

God knows how the E36 setup works, but it definitely includes a temp sensor

This is what my loom looks like:

Anyone know what connector goes on here and where to find it?

In the drivers side brake duct. It is a metal disc looking thing :)
