Hi i just wondered what kind of a drop on the rear i'd expect with b4 bilstein shocks on standard springs? does anyone maybe have a picture of theirs or the shocks and lowering springs? thanks.

a damper has nothing to do with the ride height of a car so an E30 using billy dampers and standard springs would look the same as a car on standard dampers

No drop, the springs control the drop not the dampers.

How come the recommended drop with bilstein dampers are only 40mm?

because of the length of the dampers - B6's IIRC have a shorter damping rod to allow for a bigger drop - however much more than 40mm will be impractical and horrible for normal road use anyway.

Because that's about as far as you can go, and still have suspension that works properly.cherryredbenj11 wrote:How come the recommended drop with bilstein dampers are only 40mm?
