I've got a 316 m10 running on the original carb. Once its up to temperature it idles erratically, with revs rising and falling.

Any ideas what this could be?

I cant find any leaks on any vacum lines , however one of the vacum lines doesn't go anywhere, it leaves the carb then joins a plastic disc but this isn't connected to anything. Is this correct?

Pictures of this vacuum line, and car mileage.

The pierberg 2BE carb is a pile of crap. It as electronic idle, electronic choke and electronic 2nd barrell, so I expect it's one of those playing up.

You're best off spending £300 and getting the Weber replacement carb, a DMTL32/34, which is designed and jetted for this car.

Or if you're feeling brave, a Weber 32/36DGV.

best thing you can do, i have fitted loads of these over the years, it usually transforms the car :)

only downside is the econometer thiungy wont work afterwards and your have to find somewhere to mount the choke cable

I had a carb on my first E30 and it had so much wear in the moving parts it wouldnt run cleanly. A Weber carb cured the problem.
