Have discovered heater ducting which goes to the rear footwells under the carpet of a 4 door chromie, however this ducting is not fitted in my facelift 2-door (but there are slits in the carpets under the front seats).
My question is, to which models would this ducting normally be fitted? Is it decided by number of doors, pre/post facelift, or trim level? Or by some other more random factor?

From memory of E30s I've broken I've only seen them in 4 doors (inc tourings) and my 325i cab. Never in any 2 doors.

They were not fitted to coupes ( or 2 dr cars if you prefer ) the "duct voids" were filled with foam cut-outs in these models, afaik.
If it ain't broke..
Fix it till it is
