hi guys,

I've read very little on this subject, and searches don't turn up much apart from mere mentions of this,

but i am contemplating putting an e28 hub onto my e30 (non m3) mcpherson strut to achieve two things:

-5 stud

-282x25mm brakes

now, i know the bearing will have to be sleeved, and possibly a bracket made for the caliper, but is this possible at all?

and does anyone have a link to a thread which has more info to this? i cant seem to find much info anywhere!

people have said it has been done before, but i would like to work out a few things such as:

-hat size issues
-caliper mounting issues
-offset issues

the only reason i am contemplating this, is because the control arms/suspension parts from an m3 e30/e36 here in Australia would cost me an arm and a leg (well over $1000) and i can get the hubs, discs, calipers etc for dirt cheap, and may have access to a machining shop for some custom work.

obviously the rear will be e36 compact, but its just the front that is my main issue.

any feedback would be welcome, please don't flame me - i'm running thin on money and options...

thanks guys!
