Speedo not working 325 touring

Hi, i have a problem with my speedo, it doesnt seem to work everytime i put my foot down, sometimes it works when the car is in gear and i let of the throttle, it sometimes bouncers around too if im using very little throttle, when the speedo isnt working the mpg gauge wont either but it starts to read also when letting off the throttle? Anyone had this problem?

More than likley the wire from the diff, the vibration that it is subjected to cause it to break up internally. Unplug it and replace the last 30cm of it.

Also check/clean the plug at the same time. My old 318i had this problem.
