Asking on behalf of a friend who has a M60B40 in his 200sx s14
He has been having issues with the running of the car.
It would misfire and is now struggling and most of the time wont start.
It seemed to be a faulty fuel pump, however upon fitting a new pump (to a 044 bosch) there is no life in it at all to start.
There was no signal/currant coming into the positive for the fuel pump so we temporarily fitted a live on a switch for the pump.
The pump primes and runs but not to the noise that i know 044s make, so my question is does the ecu need signal from the fuel pump to run or can it be done with in effect a standalone fuel pump?
