I'm swapping a driver's seat belt over. When it's clamped in my vice, I can get the roller to release the belt all the way out, so I know the mechanism is good. But as soon as I bolt it to the B-pillar, it locks up solid.

Is there some trick to bolting it in place that I don't know about? It's driving me mental 8O

Im sure, once its in place it works like normal?

Have you tried to operate it in its normal way rather than pulling on it soon as you bolt it in... As in, sit in place and try to pull it round you.

From memory, when stripping them from cars, they lock up if you try to pull them at a odd angle

Do you have it bolted into the correct side of the car?

In the vice I was able to tilt it away from vertical in both directions to mimic it being fitted to either driver or passenger side, and it worked fine.

I'll just have to put it in and hope...
