Hi guys,

I have started a manual conversion on my 1989 325i SA Import, so far.the Autotranny, exhaust, drive shaft etc is removed..

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

I discovered that a vital part wasn't included, (Rear Support Bracket for shifter) however this is now ordered, but has a lead time of 14-17 days from Germany due to the BMW dealership in NZ using the cheapest freight option.

I also need to order a new clutch line (the one included with my manual conversion was cut in 1/2 and only 1/2 of it was included.).

Is anyone able to upload a Picture of how this clutch line all fits in from under their manual M20 Powered E30? annoyingly I don't seem to know anyone else that owns an E30 that lives nearby.
I'm worried that there's some other bits I don't have, ie a small metal bracket that I saw on a diagram.

Another thing is the pedal box, it looks tricky to install due to the massive rod that needs to go to the LHD side of the car.

Clutch line goes from the fluid holder mounted on the r/h inner wing turret across the bulkhead under the brake line that feeds the o/s front brake.

Relay rod and box mount inside the car,you should have these anyway on your autobox version,be aware that one end of the rod has a l/h thread....I read, but have not tried myself, that it's possible to swap the big autobox type brake pedal for the smaller manual type and clutch pedal without removing the pedal box from the footwell.
Youth is wasted on the young.

What diff are you going to be using?

Seeing as you are using a SA built car you can check out the SA E30 site for tips and advice.

go to www.e30clubsa.co.za and check out the e30 Technical section :)
