Zoners,

A few months ago I noticed that my passenger side (Nr. Side) tail light (rear light and brake light) was out. The indicator and reverse light were working though..

So, naturally, I figured it was just blown bulbs, so as i went to replace the bulbs, i nudged the bulb holder in the trunk, the lights came on!

So, I just put it down to some looseness with the electrical contacts and for the next few months I'd turn on my lights at night, walk round to the back of the car and if the lights on that side weren't working, i'd give the bulb holder at the back a quick whack and hey presto, they would switch on.

Last week, this soft-whack-technique stopped working and those lights now don't work at all. However, the indicator and reverse lights do work.

Fog light, Brake light and rear running light does not work!

I picked up a new bulb holder from that side from eBay thinking that would be the fix, but sadly, it isn't.

When I took the bulb holder I thought was faulty to other side and plugged that connector in, and the lights didn't work either.

Checked fuses, none blown. Checked bulbs and replaced bulbs, no fix!

MOT soon, don't have the money to have it fixed at a garage.

Help!!!

damp in the cluster and now the wiring? Have you checked if the rubber seal is knackered and letting water in?

rubber seals are in great condition, with the rain recently I was worried that the boot might leak etc but it's really well sealed!

Might be worth cleaning the pins on the circular plug going into the light board. Sounds like a bad contact, electrical contact cleaner would be handy. If you can get a hold of a multimeter you can check for voltage at the bulb holders.
If it ain't broke..
Fix it till it is :)
