Hey i searched the forum but could not see much.
Whats involed/needed to swap my 316 carb out for an injection, ie
any 6 cylinder engine from e30/e36 more than likely an m50 (not 100% sure what im going to go for yet)
Will i have to swap fuel lines for high pressure ones and fit a return to the tank ect?
Any help and information would be appreciated!

The extra work will be centred around the fuel system, as you surmise, including whether or not your tank has the pick up cup welded into it for the fuel pump to draw fuel from.
The age of the car is important as well. Early ones had a rectangular engine loom socket on the bulkhead, but later cars had the 20 pin round one and the fuel pump wiring all in place, which will make the job easier and neater.
There's also the fact that starting with a lowly saloon, you will probably have suspension and brakes that are far from ideal.

Thanks for the reply dude!
the cars a 1987 D reg 4 door saloon if that helps?
Its mint rust wise and i love 4 doors so want to keep it.
I want to get an engine in it asap as i will be using it as a daily/drift toy. I had a 320i before this and that was not exactly fast either, on the track kicking the clutch and stuff i could sit with the bigger boys but it took alot lol!
What engine would you say is best/easiest to swap?
Oh and it has coilovers and brakes already!
Thanks again
