Hi,

Car: BMW 320i Convertible 1991

I recently had a new water pump, crankshaft oil seal and a new timing belt, & speedo cable fitted to my car and now the screen wash sensor light stays on. If i fiddle with the sensor bit on the water bottle it goes off then comes on again when I start moving.

Does any one know were it plugs into from the bottle as I have traced the wiring which runs behind the radiator.

This was working fine up until the work was done. Does anyone know if this is an easy fix I can do myself or should I just go back to the garage and complain?

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks
Mark

You should be able to manage to rotate it yourself, so that it sits the right way up in the bottle!

Great, thanks for the replies, but which is the correct way it is supposed to sit. I have been out in my dinner hour at work and turned it so the wires face upwards.
I will try finding the correct position until the light stays off.

Thanks.

IT could be either a loose connection or the switch might have expired. Worth checking if the connector isn't corroded as well or loose.
BMW and Opel, both RWD, both german, both good fun

Hi,
I have had a look and moved the sensor to what I know now is the right way and the control panel light stays off.

Cheers for all your help.
