Have a petrol leak from the drivers side under the three quarter panel on a 325i convertible 1990 H. Only noticed after filling the tank near to full. It's a relatively new car for me. From looking at the wiki I would have the 55 litre fuel tank.......

When I looked this morning after leaving it all night it had stopped leaking fuel but after a short 15 miles drive after filling it up there was a real smell of petrol and a puddle underneath where described above. Any advice please? Is this area where the fuel tank sits?

Common things to check are the filler pipe, the section going into the tank is a common rust point. Lift the rear seat and unscrew the access panel on the drivers side, check the fuel hoses coming out of the fuel pump.

All your tank expansion gubbins are up inside the driverside rear arch so look and check over them would be advised too but the other 2 are 1st place to check
