Hi

I started loosing clutch fluid, so I checked the hose from the resevoir under the bonnet, not leak, then checked the master cylinder (under the panel by the pedals) and found what I thought was a leak from the cylinder (fluid in) seal.

I bought a replacement and fitted it, when I was starting to bleed the system it was apparently leaking! In the same place!

I removed the cylinder and the resevoir, took out the tube which channels the fluid from the resevoir to the cylinder and made it up outside of the car to see what was going on. I found that in fact the little plastic elbow taking the fluid from the tube to the cylinder was cracked! I don't know how...possibly it was weakened last time it was replaced, then with the heat due to (hmph) summer, it may have induced the split? Either was I've temporarilly fixed it and am expecting the replacement part from BMW on Wednesday. It's not leaked now for a couple of days, but I want a new bit of plastic in there.

Just a little side note, when I tried to remove the resevoir from the supply tube, I was twisting it...bad idea, it tore the resevoir to tube nipple, not great, I melted it together for a temporary fix, but am also replacing this on Wednesday, for those wanted to take it off for cleaning or whatever, just pull!

All the best!
