Hello, does anyone know if i were to buy a electric sunroof motor, switch, relay and loom....

Would it bolt stright up to my manual sunroof or would i need a totaly different mechanism ... ie new sunroof 'cables' i believe ? :?

Im not sure... can any one confirm what I need?

Thanks :)

It is just about possible to fit things up as you suggest, and the manual back plate has three unused threaded holes where the motor fits, BUT you will find that the spacing is not quite right and all three holes in the motor have to be drilled larger to get the bolts to fit. There are also a couple of other problems that will arise.
Far easier to get the complete motor plate, with the outer cable tubes sill attached and to slide your existing inner cables into them.

The only 'wiring' that is fitted from the factory is the power feed at the relay behind the glovebox. This will be a green/blue wire that currently goes to the window switches.
The loom for the electric sunroof is just a single wire that is clipped down behind the LH 'A' pillar trim, with a connector on the bottom end that replaces the window loom connector. This connector also has a short flying lead connected to it, which terminates in a connector that mates with the displaced window loom plug.
Do yourself a favour, and sell on what you already have, before you wreck it and render in unsaleable, and put the proceeds towards Dan's kit.

It arrived yesterday so i though i would just have a look... I tested the motor (found that spare plug :D)

Then I took apart the sunroof area to investigate and yeah your right it will be so much easier to buy the motor mounting plate and guide tubes :)

DanThe: does your kit come with the electric sunroof panel (the bit the sunvisors are on)....? And would you post it?
