Hi all,

I've got oil dripping from the oil filter housing on a 325. It's not the mating between the housing and the block but right at the bottom of the housing below the oil cooler pipes.

Can this be repaired or does it need replacing?

Cheers, Andy

It is probably coming from the oil control valve. I changed the gasket on mine last week - doesn't take long.
Here is a guide http://e30.bmwdiy.info/oil-leak/index.html to changing it.
The parts are sold as a kit which is just a new snap ring and cover with o ring attached.

Hope it helps ...

Exactly as GDBN says!
Never realised that the replacement O ring was an improved material though. I have always though it just hardened with heat and age.
