I have just changed my wheels to BBS rs which fit a e30 no probs with the right spacers

Tried and tested these same wheels before this on my last sport
without any issues.

Car was fine ( However there was a abs issue which apparently is a relay) before I changed the wheels now it feels like the handbrake is on the handbrake lever is very tight. It only moves up very slightly.

When trying to accelerate away, lots of resistance and car struggles to move and hunches up when releasing clutch

So just changed the wheels back to what were on before with the same bolts and spacers, which drove fine on and now still have same issue.

It has upgraded brakes, WMS 298mm.

What could I have possibly done, a braking component stuck on.

a stab in the dark but you didn't use the long wheel bolts from the spacers with the other wheels? these could have bent/pushed something about in the handbrake mech if they went too far into the hub.

if it was me i'd whip the hub (well it'll be a disc won't it lol) off and see what looks out of place, it's only a 20min job and at least you'll know for sure.

yeah i would mate - only a couple of bolts for the caliper and the retaining screw for the disc, you might have to fight the disc off though if the handbrake is dragging!

don't have to take the hub off i was getting the terminology totally wrong!

you might be lucky and it's just dislodged something so possibly get away with taking it apart and rebuilding.

it seems that the handbrake mech is a bit fragile unless the backplates are perfect anyway. i've ended up welding washers into my backplate so i can put bolts through to hold the shoes instead of of the twist pins as they kept falling to bits.

It sounds to me like the bolts are wedged on the caliper or caliper housing. How long are the bolts from memory I tried 50mm and the wheel wouldn't turn think 40mm length is the maximum you can go.
