pulse sensor?

orite guys was just wondering do i need the pulse sensor thats wrapped round number 6 ht lead. iv just changed to 8mm leads and cant get new ht lead threw it. was told car runs perfect without. is this true?

It's called the CID:

It's not essential, but it helps. Question is, why have you replaced the leads? OEM ones should come with the CID, and aftermarket leads are notoriously crap on these cars.

yeah looks like iv learnt the hard way regarding aftermarket leads. it was just that i replaced the plugs so thought id do the leads. and like a write muppit i went n cut no 6 ht lead to pull the cid of
cars running bad so looks like im going to have to buy a new set of oem leads. thanks for your advice

Second hand OEM leads should be fine, even after all these years, so ask the traders on here.
