i,ve found some rust under the fuse box down to the loom, but it hasn,t rusted through it,s solid, how,s the best way to treat it to stop it spreading, clean it up and fertan?it,s a daily so it can,t come off the road, also the sealant on the seam does that just sit on top or go through to inner wing, which i,ve checked and and has same solid rust

Unfortunately if you want it gone you're going to have to cut out and re-weld, and to be honest it'll be a big job.
If you want to stave it off, you can scrub it back as much as possible and use fertan, then use an epoxy base like dinitrol, then a brushable seam sealer, then cover it with an acrylic paint, but it'll look rubbish. That might buy you some time, but the rust will still be there and it'll eat through the seam eventually.
If you want to see how I dealt with it, check out my resto thread.

thanks for reply, that will teach me to look for things, time and funds mean i won,t be getting it cut out so i,ll just clean it up till it rots through then weigh it.just shows how important it is to check every part of these cars even when underseal etc looks solid, take a screwdriver to it!
