What's your thoughts on what performs better? Was thinking of replacing my battered current system on my rally car. Not worried about looks etc.

Depends on the diameter of the pipe, surely. The diameter of each pipe in the twin-pipe system is 45mm, which gives an area of 3200 or thereabouts. So a 2.5" single pipe (63.5mm) would achieve the same area, which is what BTB used in their 6-2-1 manifold.
If you went into serious gas flow dynamics though, a single pipe has a smaller circumference than double (200mm to 280mm) meaning less surface resistance between the gas and the metalwork, so possibly a smoother flow. All depends on the quality of the system and the design of the mufflers etc.

Thanks for that. It's cheaper and lighter for a single system. Don't know if they sound similar? My current scorpion twin pipe system had the centre box removed and did not have an x pipe put back in. Sounds a bit like a Porsche
having an x piece put in next week but may get new system soon
