318i Spark plugs....

Just a quickie.... what plugs do people recommend??
Not after anything special, just replacement parts!!!

I thought NKG BPR6ES were recommended, but not sure if thats just for 6 cyl???

I popped into halfords and they 'recommend' a NGK '501' - which they didn't have, so none the wiser as to what NGK's I actually want!!

I have a pack of these in the lock-up from a while back - but they just show BPR6E !!! Surely a digit missing??? Are they suitable???


If the above aren't what i need, Opie Oils website shows NGK BKR6EK - gonna order some oil in the morning so might well go with those, unless anyone has a reason not too!!!

As for my usual approach of 'stick in the ones I've got and see if they fit / how it runs' - I can't!!!! Severe back problems means these along with a whole box of bits I have acquired will be going to the local garage to be done, along with a fresh MOT!!!

I have been running my 318i M40 on the NGK BKR6EK for many years and have always had good performance and long life out of them.
Those BPR6E plugs should work...they claim to have a wide heat range which is always important.

I have always had problems with Bosch plugs and will never buy them again for my M40!

Heard bosch ones can be hit'n'miss, but have always bought NGK stuff as standard anyway!!!!
