Hi all
Can someone tell me what the hose is in the centre of this picture, coming our of the throttle, and why it might have been blocked off?

Also, what is this cable that is resting on to of the brake fluid reservoir for?

It's an M40B18
Thanks in advance

And can also be found in the forum threads at least once a week!
You have answered in 20 minutes what several professional mechanics have been unable to solve. So thanks!
However it leads to other questions...
Wiki says "For cars not fitted with the Carbon Canister, it is this blanking plug on the intake that is a major cause of air leaks."
Now, i've had ongoing problems with intermittent misfiring, loss of power and general poor running. Sometimes it's fine, sometimes it's un-driveable. Changed plugs, leads, dizzy rotor, crank sensor.
Could an air leak on this blocked hose cause that?
