Adjustable fuel pressure regulator/gauge setup

i have a bmw e30 325i and fitted a fse power boost valve, induction kit and mild ecu chip, do you know what bar i need to set the regulator at with a gauge at idle. At the moment i have it 2.5 bar at idle

Aftermarket parts are made to sell on for a profit... BMW do not endorce these parts.
They majority aren't made with performance in mind, more, sales amount. Just because a K&N Filter might work well on one car, doesnt mean they work well as an upgrade on all cars. The original design was designed for a reason

Adjustable pressure regulators should NEVER be anywhere near a standard engine, unless there is a very good reason to adjust the fuel pressure (trying to squeeze a bit more from under size injectors) then the stock item is the best bet.
