Alright chaps,

Some absolute darling tried stealing my car the other day and destroyed the plastic steering column surrounding.

They messed around quite a lot so now the indicator stalk and wiper stalk are not straight. i.e. they are now lop sided and the metal bit which these screw on to can now move a bit.

So,
How can i sort this out?
And whats the best way of getting the top steering column surround on? Seems like a bit of a bitch getting it on and under the dash.

Cheers,

Pete

To get the top platic cover on its easiest if you remove the plastic bit that goes below the clocks.

There is a hand tight nut in behind the dash on either side that needs to be removed to get the panel removed. You also need the under dash panel removed to get at the two nuts.

The guid in the wiki for swapping the dash covers it in detail.

I've had dashes out before, just really didn't want to take the dash out for just the steering column cowling.

Any ideas about how to straighten the steering column itself. Well annoying having the indicator and wiper talks at a jaunty angle.

Done this now. Had to take the actual steering column end off and it just slips on.

Theres a bolt underneath the steering column which you have to undo with your fingers as its a rivet-like end.
