How much work is involved in converting a 4dr passenger seat into a 2dr drivers seat?
Is it a case of just swapping the runners/mechs/seatbelt clip over then adding the tilt cables or....
does it involve removing all the upper and lower leather sections and replacing that way...ie loads of hogrings etc to deal with?
Sport seat-N/S to O/S?

Coincidently the car/comforts are also heated but cant imagine the elements being an easy swap into the sports seats?

I read on here somewher, the confort ones "Can" be used on the sports seat.
I think the tilt mechs are welded to the the rear back support, but it can't be that difficult to swap things over, as long as the seats are the same.

The mechanisms each side of the seat from the driver's donor need to be fitted to the passenger seat to get the tilt/up-down lever on the correct side. These are easy to swap - prise out the the little arm in the middle, pull back a spring latch, and rotate.
Seat belt mount just swaps over, or is deleted as appropriate with a square centred washer.
Over - back knob is best left as it is - there's no real reason to move it, and it's a fair bit of extra work to do so.
The seat back can be used as it is, but will only have one lever, and that will be facing the driver's side, or the two levers can be fitted.
The single lever frame is the same as the two lever one, but the two lever version has an extra bit welded on. Can be changed over with a bit of work, but it's easier to strip the fabric off and re use the two lever frame.

What about the lever to move the seat forward and backwards?Brianmoooore wrote:The mechanisms each side of the seat from the driver's donor need to be fitted to the passenger seat to get the tilt/up-down lever on the correct side. Sounds like it might just be the same amount of work(and more OEM outcome) to just replace the shredded cloth bolsters/cushion on the knckered seat I have rather than convert the good leather one to suit?

On a sports seat, you also need to swap over the bloster adjustment mech. It's all straightforward stuff once you're in about it.
