I am getting a trundling noise from the rhs front. I am guessing a worn wheel bearing or ball joint. Does anyone know a way to check which it might be( if either) before I start taking things apart?

if its a wheel bearing it will most likely couse a humming noise when driving that will get louder when turning on the side that the bearing is away.
jack up the car and spin the wheel and have a listen to it and when the wheel is spining put your hand on the spring you will feel vibrations this will be the woren bearing.
also when you have the car up check the balljoints, droplinks etc.. they should be tight with no movement.
hope this help
