Hey all,
I have petrol vapours escaping from my 26 year old fuel cap, can the big rubber seal inside the cap be replaced or is it time for a new cap?

The rubber boot inside the cap just holds the filler neck in place. From what you have said I'd say your filler neck is probably rusted through and that's what is causing the smell. Jack it up and have a poke around would be my advice.

Buy a new cap, not expensive

Can anyone suggest how to test if the boot lights are staying on with the boot shut?
